Complimentary Alternative Modalities

The human body is a complex and fascinating creation.  Not only does the body include muscular,  skeletal, circulation, breathing, craniosacral rhythm, organs, glands, etc but also energy meridians, chakras and so forth.

It is not surprising then that all bodies do not respond optimally to a specific individual body work therapy.   Body work therapies include ( but not limited to) massage, craniosacral therapy, rolfing, chiropractic, acupuncture, reiki and physical therapy.   Routines can be added to health care/maintenance include (but not limited to) yoga, pilates, strength training, walking, running and the like.

Over time the body can begin to ‘hold on to a pattern of dysfunction and pain’.   In my particular case, a pattern was established years ago due to a horse riding accident in high school and three automobile accidents in the next few years following that.   Combine the low level and sometimes high level stresses of changing careers, moving across states, change in marital status – anything life wants to toss our way and seemingly all the sudden the body says – enough.  The acute onset of persistent pain patterns surface but probably not due to a specific immediate cause.   I have included massage, craniosacral therapy, rolfing, chiropractic, acupuncture, reiki and physical therapy to my own health care maintenance.   It has taken all these specific therapies to allow me to begin walking again on the road of healing for myself.

Being a trained and licensed massage therapist I appreciate the effort, time and commitment other health care and body workers put forth into getting and keeping their licensing current.  When I search out body workers I always look for those who are certified or licensed.

Here’s wishing you continued health and much happiness.
